The IEP is thrilled to announce that our very own Emma Williams FIEP, Learning and Development Manager at the IEP Learning Academy, has recently achieved IEP Fellowship.
Speaking on her Fellowship, Emma said:
“I’m truly honoured to be a Fellow of the IEP, an organisation I’m hugely proud to work for.
“Having been a part of the IEP team and the Learning Academy, I have seen the organisation grow exponentially across the globe, and at its heart is the drive to serve its members and align employability practices worldwide, to change the lives of those at the frontline of our service provision.
“I joined as a member of the IEP back in 2012, new to the sector and starting my career as a frontline employability practitioner at Working Links. I knew from the beginning that this sector fed into my passion of helping others see their own potential, build confidence and increase belief in the power of work on well-being and being part of the community.
“I worked in some of the most deprived areas of Cornwall and seeing the difference our services provided in helping families and individuals find and sustain in work and lift themselves out of hardship and poverty was humbling.
“I was inspired by my mentors and trainers and felt the calling of helping others through the application of learning. Subsequently I began a mentorship with Helen Lee FIEP that would span more than a decade and see us collaborate in the pursuit of education and training qualifications, leading to us eventually working together to design, develop and deliver the IEP sector qualifications. These include Employability Essentials, Over 50’s Employment Support, Certificate in Employability Practice, Award in Employer Solutions, and most recently, the Award in Supporting Participants with Complex Needs – this qualification, in particular, is very close to my heart as I can remember vividly the feeling of helplessness as a frontline practitioner when simply not knowing what to do, say or help someone with such needs.”
