IEP is delighted to announce that MTC Australia has joined our growing group of Corporate Affiliate Partners in Australia.
MTC Australia is an independent social enterprise that enables people to overcome barriers on their path to meaningful work. They do this through the employment, mentoring and training programmes they deliver. As a social enterprise, they support and empower Australians, by reinvesting surplus back into social impact initiatives aligned to their purpose.
MTC was established in 1989 in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville by a team of just three. The name MTC represented the original focus of the new social enterprise: Marrickville Community Training Centre. The original team founded MTC to assist the most disadvantaged and as they’ve grown, they’ve expanded their focus to support people from all backgrounds who want to improve their employment skills and prospects.
Today MTC Australia is a group of over 450 dedicated people based at more than 40 locations across Greater Sydney and Queensland. Each year, they support over 20,000 people with new skills, confidence, and opportunities, creating paths that are right for them and their individual needs and their support sees people experience positive change in themselves and in their contribution to the community.
Through government funded programmes and initiatives, MTC Australia also helps employers find and hire job ready staff who will become valuable assets to any workforce. They also deliver nationally accredited training courses and innovative youth programs.
