Worcestershire County Council (WCC) is dedicated to supporting residents aged 16 and above through a range of services aimed at improving career prospects, employment opportunities, and overall well-being. They manage various contracts designed to provide comprehensive support, including career advice, apprenticeship guidance, health and well-being initiatives, and training programs.

WCC’s collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) enables them to operate two Careers Youth Hubs, offering vital support to young people across the county. Through initiatives like Careers Worcs, they assist individuals aged 16-24 in securing employment, education, or training opportunities. Each participant benefits from a dedicated advisor who guides them throughout their journey, ensuring they achieve their full potential.

In addition to these services, WCC manage contracts such as the Department for Education’s (DfE) Multiply and Skills Bootcamps programs. They also focus on promoting apprenticeship support and awareness within the community, schools, and among employers. By working closely with businesses, WCC identify recruitment and skills gaps and will soon introduce a bespoke Workforce Planning Diagnostic Tool to better serve the needs of local employers.

WCC strive to ensure that every individual has access to the opportunities they need to develop their skills and progress in their careers. Whether through direct support or by fostering connections with employers and educational providers, their goal is to create a thriving, skilled workforce that can meet the demands of the modern job market.
