The IEP AGM 2024 is nearly here! Proudly sponsored by Palladium, this free blockbuster event offers a fantastic opportunity for our Members, Member Ambassadors, and Fellows to learn what the IEP has been doing for you over this past year. But that’s not all. We’ll also treat you to performances by talented musicians Jake Thompson and Tayo B!
Tayo B is a self-produced music artist and integral member of HQ Familia. IEP Fellow Dr Yasin El Ashrafi BEM FIEP is Founder and Owner of HQ Recording Studio and the HQ Familia record label, as well as Leicester Music Conference and Director of HQ CAN (Community Arts Network) Community Interest Company.
The multi-award winning mentor and entrepreneur said “Tayo B is a multi-instrumental singer with a wide variety of influences, from The Beatles to Kanye West. Ever ambitious, Tayo B aims to reach a world-class standard of music production in order to earn a place in the musical mainstream.”
Jake Thompson is a singer-songwriter based in Leicester/Leicestershire in the UK. He started his career at 9-years-old through guitar lessons and learning different styles of cover songs, before playing his first ‘proper’ gig at the age of just 12 at the local pub. Jake has continued ever since, developing his skills in not only guitar but other instruments and vocals.
In his college years, Jake started learning how to write creatively. This is something he thought he couldn’t do, but he just kept at it, writing stories, writing about his feelings and experiences.
He released his first single at 19, which was entirely self-produced, and it got played multiple times by BBC Music Introducing East Midlands and landed on ‘Track of the Week’, he has had their support ever since.
Yasin said “Jake has not looked back once, and is writing so much music, getting booked in the studio when he can, and working with various people and building a strong productive team around him. He is putting his all into it now, so keep an eye out.”
The AGM is more than a review; it’s a gateway to understanding the value of your membership, connecting with colleagues, discovering and exploring resources that can enhance your professional practice. On Thursday 28th November at Westminster or online, you’ll get the chance to learn about everything we’ve done to support our members and to discover how you can benefit from your membership even more. It’s also the first opportunity to meet your newly elected Board Members!
