The IEP is delighted to announce that Liz Sewell FIEP, Director at Belina Consulting and Belina GRoW CIC, has been awarded the prestigious IEP Fellow of the Year Award at the IEP Summit 2024 Networking Dinner, held on 20th June at RSA House in London.
Liz has made an outstanding and unique contribution to our sector, demonstrating how a principled stand in favour of social justice for disadvantaged and excluded women can be realised not just as an aspiration, good words, or correct policy, but as practical success. She has shown that significantly high-quality service can be built across various programmes and partnerships to deliver strong, positive outcomes.
A passionate campaigner for women’s rights, Liz developed the Get Ready for Work (GRoW) programme to support mothers who are further from the labour market into sustainable jobs. Liz’s work highlights the importance of community engagement, building involvement and trust, and remaining committed over the long term to achieve employment success and uphold ethical practices. She exemplifies the determination, commitment, and focus required to make a discernible difference in the employability sector. Without her relentless efforts, many issues within the sector would remain unresolved.
As a Fellow, Liz has supported the IEP and its initiatives from the very beginning. Over the past year alone she has actively championed our cause by delivering LiveLearnLunches, attending our Fellows Dinners, regional networking events, the IEP Summit, and the Summit Networking Dinner. She participated as a panellist at the IEP Summit 2023 and IEP Basecamp 2023, where she provided valuable insights into the challenges women face in employment. Together with her outstanding team, many of whom came through Liz’s pioneering GRoW programme as participants themselves, Liz is a true champion of the sector. She continually supports IEP initiatives through social media, conversations with other Fellows and the wider sector, and embedding IEP’s vision, mission, and values within her own organisation and beyond.
Liz’s Fellow finalists were Veejay Patel FIEP, Director at Business 2 Business and IEP Board Member, and Ayden Sims FIEP, Regional Managing Director (UK and Italy) at Angus Knight Group, and Board Member of ERSA.
The IEP Fellowship was created as a means to celebrate, recognise and form a group of passionate, influential professionals from within the sector for the sector.
