The UK General Election is taking place on 4th July, and it’s time to join the conversation and spread the word that this is the #EmployabilityElection. The people who need the most help need the best help, and the IEP is here to support all parties to deliver the best possible support to get Britain back to work.

“Our collective expertise and dedication are crucial in addressing the employment and skills challenges facing the UK, and together, we can make a significant impact,” said IEP Group CEO Scott Parkin FIEP.

“We encourage everyone in our sector to rally behind this message. Let’s unite and demonstrate our unwavering commitment to improving employability for all. Share your insights, engage in the dialogue, and advocate for policies that will make a real difference.”

In their recent General Election Update, ERSA strengthen their message that Employment Support is a crucial sector for the UK and that they are general election ready and here to represent the sector.

ERSA began its policy and public affairs campaign in October 2022 when they developed their #WorkingForBetterWork strategy and campaign. They have been busy engaging with ministers, shadow ministers, and their advisors through their work on the future of employment support, UKSPF, Universal Support, and making the case for national and devolved programmes and have strong ongoing relationships in place.

ERSA are ready to represent the sector in this general election campaign and to work with the new government. There are many new candidates in this general election and ERSA will be engaging with them all.

This is the time to raise the sector’s profile and demonstrate our role in building strong economies and communities and addressing many of the challenges faced in the UK.

ERSA set out their work in the ERSA Manifesto for 2024 and beyond, with 5 key principal themes:
1. Sustainable commissioning
2. A fairer labour market
3. Access to provision
4. Meeting the needs of employers
5. Health solutions for work.

ERSA has embarked on a public affairs partnership with PLMR, and are already working with their team of experts who have worked at the highest levels of media and politics. They will support ERSA’s work on behalf of the sector.

ERSA has:
• Developed a general election plan to engage with all candidates.
• Policy papers on how the sector delivers and what more we can do.
• A plan to engage with the new government.

Throughout the campaign ERSA will be working with you and providing the resources for you to support the sector-wide work.
