Emma Williams MAIEP, L&D Manager at the IEP, said she is incredibly proud of our latest group of learners – Younus Alum, Claire Churchouse, Owen Buckley-Irvine, Anna Davis, and Gwen Charles – who last week completed phase one of their Gold Accreditation level for the the IEP Award in Supporting Participants With Complex Needs.
“They demonstrated exceptional commitment and professionalism engaging in a skills rehearsal with acted characters, applying their learning in a range of ways from forming relationships, building trust, and utilising motivational interviewing techniques,” she said.
“They have also explored ambivalence and change talk, worked to break down confirmation bias and self-stigma, and received comprehensive feedback and mentoring to hone their skills.
“This journey can be nerve-wracking, and emotions often run high, but these consummate professionals have truly shone, showcasing both their existing expertise and newly acquired skills.”
Today, the learners meet with Emma and Tim for their final 1-2-1 skills rehearsal. In this rehearsal, they continue the story with their character participant and apply the final learning applications to generate positive movement in the participant’s employment journey.
These sessions are vital for learners to feel completely safe in the knowledge that the learning covered in the qualification is relevant, useable, and achieves results before applying it with their caseloaded participants. They receive structured valued feedback to allow them to continue their development.
“Congratulations to all our learners for their hard work and dedication!” said Emma. “Your achievements are a testament to your resilience and passion for making a positive impact.”
