We’ve been delighted to deliver a number of our ‘Discover the Power of IEP Learning’ over the past few weeks and introduce ourselves to many more IEP members. As part of these sessions we’ve spoken about our unique and innovative approach to learning delivery.

The IEP approach to creating effective and engaging performance-focused, sector-specific skills training starts with learner-centred design. Learner-centred design is the process of building learning experiences by focusing on learner challenges and building fitting solutions, working through an iterative process of programme development which incorporates the continuous practice of building, refining, improving and updating the learning.

Our IEP-accredited learning programmes are meticulously designed with the aim of maximising the transfer of key skills from the learning environment into the day-to-day job role. Through a robust learning need analysis process, clear and specific learning objectives are created which align both with the needs of employability professionals, and the demands of the sector. We then then work with subject matter experts to make choices about what, when, where and how to deliver learning.

As our programmes are developed decisions are made about the content, structure, timing, pedagogical strategies, sequence of learning activities, and the type and frequency of assessment in the course, as well as the nature of technology used to support learning.

We understand that learning experiences must be engaging, interactive, participatory, and relevant to learners’ interests and motivations to foster active engagement, participation, and most importantly application of the skills developed in the workplace.

To do this we provide ample opportunities for learners to explore and experiment with the learning, activating their knowledge and skills in real-world contexts, promoting active learning and skill development. By incorporating opportunities for reflection into our programmes, learners can assess their progress, identify areas for improvement, and facilitate deeper learning and self-awareness.

We take an evidence-based approach to learning delivery incorporating neuroscience-based frameworks and models which include ‘the 12 levers of transfer effectiveness’ and GEAR Model, focusing on the importance of learner motivation, learning design and organisational support to increase retention and transfer of knowledge and skills, enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of learning outcomes.

Lastly, our evaluation processes assess the effectiveness of the learning methodology employed, such as interactive discussions, hands-on exercises, case studies, or simulations, in promoting participant engagement and knowledge retention. This ensures that our training programmes deliver tangible and lasting benefits to both learners and their organisations, making the Learning Academy the preferred choice for professional development in the employability sector.”
We are hosting a LiveLearnLunch Study Skills Session on 12th June titled Unlock Your Potential: Mastering Study Skills for Work-Based Learning and we’d love to see you there.

We’re also continuing our Discover the Power of IEP Learning sessions throughout June to introduce you to some of our individual programmes. They are all free to attend so do book on. You can find all the booking details here http://www.localhost:10068/events/event_list.asp
