What are the benefits of IEP membership?

There are numerous benefits of becoming a member of IEP. You will gain an independent endorsement of your skills and experience from the Institute, enhancing your CV and helping you secure your career. You’ll also be able to attend a range of networking events and access the latest training courses.

What criteria do I need to meet to become a Fellow/Associate/Member etc?

As you might expect, the grade of membership for which you might qualify will depend upon a mixture of experience, qualifications and references. Guidance is provided as part of the application process. Simply select the grade that you feel applies to you and the IEP team will let you know if you qualify.

Your membership will include a range of benefits including access to our networking events, webinars, career support, mentoring, regular news updates and access to our accredited online learning courses and podcasts.

What do I get for my membership fee?

In return for a modest annual fee, you get a range of services that help you develop and maintain your skills, knowledge and professional networks. These services include networking events, career support, mentoring and regular news updates.

I have completed a course. How do I get my certificate?

Your certificate will be emailed directly to you within 28 days of completion of the online learning course.

How much does membership cost?

Our membership fees our annual: and range from £70 for individual, £200 for fellowship and a range of corporate fees based on organisation size for CAPs.

Are there any membership requirements?

Yes, the IEP has four levels of membership and each has its own entry criteria: 

  • Associate level – is open to individuals with an interest in the sector. 
  • Member level – requires 3 years in the sector or 1 year with the IEP and completion of our Employability Essentials. 
  • Member Ambassador – 3 Years of Employability Sector Experience, completion of the IEP Employability Essentials or Certificate level learning. 
  • Fellows – Expected to have been in the employability or a related sector for at least 7 years, to have participated in/supported external activities across the sector. 

Can I use the IEP logo on my stationery?

You are welcome to use the IEP logo if you are a full Member or a Fellow of IEP.   However, we do ask that you meet the specifications laid out in the branding guidelines.  Logos and guidelines can be downloaded from the MEDIA INFORMATION section of the site.

Once I become an IEP member, can I start using the letters after my name straight away?

Yes.  As soon as your membership is confirmed, you can use the post nominals  after your name to confirm your professional status.  Associates – AIEP, Members (MIEP), Member Ambassador (MAIEP) Fellows (FIEP).  This does NOT apply for affiliate members.  

How do I register for IEP Podcasts

If you are an IEP member you can simply email us at learning@iemployability.org to register. 

What happens if I leave my organisation and my IEP membership is sponsored by them?

If you have joined a new organisation, contact your HR department to find out if they also sponsor IEP membership, and how you can be considered. Alternatively, please contact the membership team who can support you with this.  membership@iemployability.org
